Even though Sophie did not have a formal training in fashion design, she sketched, painted and sculpted since she was 5 years old. She discovered jewelry designing first as self taught artist and later when she took courses in a Brooklyn studio where she learned to craft pieces using traditional metalsmithing and wax carving techniques.

Designer Sophie Blake's eponymous collection was launched in June 2011 and focuses on geometric statement pieces inspired by a mix of Art Deco and Ancient Egyptian patterns. Her pieces are unique blend of quality workmanship, luxury and casual simplicity. All of the pieces are handmade exclusively in New York City and use limited edition and custom accents and chains, semi precious stones, high quality Austrian crystals, available in 14k gold, rose gold and oxidized silver finish.

As a designer, Sophie strived to create a collection that is as wearable as it is beautiful. "It was important for me to create a collection that married statement jewelry with practicality, and could be worn for any occasion, whether you're looking for a stand-out piece to compliment a cocktail dress, or simply dress up a pair of jeans.
