Second/Layer

Partners Ant de Padovane, Jacob and Joshua Willis conceived SECOND/LAYER together in the Spring of 2013. With backgrounds including visual communication, design, creative direction, and bonded by more than a decade of friendship, SECOND/LAYER was born in their basement studio in Venice, California. Through a shared aesthetic, rooted in their Southern California upbringing, SECOND/LAYER proposes what we call, “tailor made daily wear,” a phrase we use to define our interpretation of simplistic elegance, comprised through a clean silhouette, smart fabrication, skillfully designed graphic language and tamed tailoring.
The result is a skilful translation of luxury sportswear styled to a tune all our own, which takes inspiration from our childhoods spent in the street, surf, and skate cultures of Southern California.
