So close and so distant, linked with the Earth, though completely independent from it, the Moon has become an inspiration for Sandra Stachura to create the autumn/winter collection called Moon Shadow. The idea for the collection was initiated during the visit at the Natural History Museum in London, where the outer space-related exhibition called Museum of the Moon has been recently organized. Mysteriousness of the only Earth natural satellite and its beauty and austerity have enchanted Sandra, resulting in outfits dominated by blackness and silver. As an immanent element of finishing, sequins illuminate outfits as stars at the night sky. Nevertheless, the spectacular effect was obtained by sewing crystals on dresses, making them elegant and womanly. Ostrich feathers give lightness, while soft lamb silver leather becomes a symbol of comfort and uniqueness. Asymmetry and untypical combinations of materials, for example cashmere and leather, prove that the designer wants to meet refined requirements of her customers.
This outer space-oriented collection is completed with shoes with transparent heels, designed by Sandra Stachura and resembling uncut stones. Their geometrical-like shapes and leather or mirror-like design draw attention and constitute an element of the outer space feel of the collection.
The proposed vision has also its non-outer space element, namely shirts, blazers and T-shirts, designed by the recognized visual designer Beata Śliwińska a.k.a. ”Barrakuz”, the author of excellent collages.
Coats are a particularly significant element of the collection. Their characteristic feature is specific silver print on leather, imitating the outer layer snakeskin. Designer’s collection was based on Italian materials, natural leather, wool and linings of the highest quality.
