Rabbitneck + Dotty is guided by an aesthetic based on the principles of modern graphic design. Harmony is found by playing with composition in srtucture, along with textural and graphic relationships. Taking a cue from Paul Rand's "defamiliarizing the ordinary" industrial hardware has been repurposed: solid brass drawer pulls become handbag closures, lamp finials become zipper pulls while other pieces are custom-made by a parts machinist who manufactures solid brass pipe fittings. All hardware is then plated in 16K gold and paired with fine leather that comes from tanneries in Italy and Germany. All products are designed by Laura Tiffin in Brooklyn, New York and manufactured in the United States.
