'The Painter & The Curator';

Nayna and Mashaal are best friends. The Fashion and Textiles graduates met at Central St Martins, joint by the hip through to London College of Fashion where they graduated with First Class Honours. Combined with their strong background in Textiles, specifically in Print, Nayna and Mashaal have launched their luxury print focused brand with an intention to create keepsakes, with their first products being Silk Scarves. Both originating from South Asian backgrounds, Nayna being from India, Mashaal from Pakistan, they draw major influences from their heritage creating a parallel universe for themselves while they work contrasting it to their surroundings in the Western World. With their combined ideas and mindsets, they develop prints keeping in mind the unfolding of each scarf to reveal the colours and narrative keeping story telling at the core of their designs.

"Yod-dha" : The Warrior

To Honor and Celebrate Feminine Power

The concept of this collection aims to honour women as warriors, to raise awareness of a woman’s beauty in its purest form, to highlight the strength of a woman. The core inspiration is drawn from Hindu Goddess Kali - represented as a fearless feminine idol - what we like to call The Traditional Warrior, cross-referenced with modern perceptions of a strong woman – The Modern Warrior. This collection captures identities and traits through traditional female idols and modern female interpretations to metaphorical objects and male tribe attributes to create “Yod dha”. We had a very playful approach to this collection, creating dynamic hand paintings using abstract splashes of watercolor and line drawings. Exhausting this free motion technique, we generated characters to create our very own army of warriors, which were translated into artworks on silk.
