Moat House Eyewear are a team of British designers and Artisans. We make hand-crafted wooden eyewear from our workshop in Derbyshire, UK.
The brand evolved when founders Sam & Nick Clarke lived in an 800 year old medieval Moat House. A tree in the grounds had dropped a limb. Instead of burning the beautiful piece of Oak on the fire, the couple crafted the wood into the very first pair of Moats. Now, our designs are inspired by music, film and fashion icon's both past and present and are crafted by hand, to the high quality you would expect from a British manufacturer. No two pieces of eyewear are the same. Following a 21-step process, quality is top of our priorities ensuring a durable and hard-wearing product which will be a pleasure to own. ECO: We are a super-sustainable brand and only use re-claimed and responsibly sourced hardwood. We also plant a tree in the Rainforest for every pair we sell, via Endangered Species International, giving customers an added feel-good factor when purchasing their eyewear.
