A keen observer and passionate individual.
Started her journey with a Bachelor in Commerce from Delhi University, continuing with a MA in Fashion Marketing. She has worked in the fashion and art industry within India for over 4 years while having being associated and worked for some of the prestigious events in fashion and art namely, Lakme Fashion Week and India Art Fair respectively.
She went to her pursue her passion in design with a short summer course at LCF in womenswear pattern cutting, post which she came back to India to explore her design sensibilities and work with a rather indigenous craft of the country, while also exploring her cultural Punjabi roots. Mankiran works with Phulkari in her label Mayray, with a simple notion to revisit and reinvent the fine craft of raw silk floss thread embroidery, and to make it functional for daily wear.
She continues to work towards making the label a success and keeping it well funded by keeping her day job as a Consultant for Strategic Alliances and Partnerships.
