Mata Tsertsvadze - Creative Director and Fashion Designer at Matassi.
Mata Tsertsvadze is a Tbilisi-based emerging fashion designer. She did her undergraduate studies at A. Kutateladze Tbilisi State Academy of Arts which she graduated as a BA in Womenswear. Afterwards, she did her master’s degree at A. Kutateladze Tbilisi State Academy of Arts majoring in Fashion and Textiles. Meanwhile, in 2012, she launched her own label MATASSI which has been presented on various catwalks and showrooms. Mata was a participant of Tbilisi Fashion Week Newcomers, a selected designer of the "Fun-art" Festival and a winner of the Be-Next international fashion design contest where she was awarded a scholarship at IED -IstitutoEuropeo di Design enabling her to attend a course in fashion marketing. Mata was a participant of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi where she presented a Spring/Summer full collection. Mata's works have featured in Vogue Italy, Grazia Italy, MarieClaireItaly, Zoemagazine, Georgian Journal and other fashion-related press and publications. Matassi collections are produced in limited amounts to ensure the exclusivity of each piece. Matassi clothes are hand made and out of magnificent textile made in Italy. Mata combines dissimilar fabrics. Her inspiration always comes from everyday life. Her clothes are comfortable, minimalist and personal. Mata is a fashion and street-style photographer as well. She regularly attends Fashion Weeks in various cities. Street fashion and crisscrossing the globe are another source of inspiration to her.
