Iris Favand is a fashion designer based between paris and New-York. Before pursuing a fashion degree at Parsons, New York, she studied humanities and art history. Her practice is driven by her love of fashion history and by her convictions on gender equality.

Latest Collection

DANCE AS RESISTANCE

This collection was designed to be displayed in Brooklyn, in a dance performance questioning the rise of nationalism and our fear of the other.

Due to covid the show was cancelled. Countries confined themselves and our ability to cross borders got tied to our citizenship more than ever. Mistrust, prejudices, rejection of “those who don’t belong” were brought to light.

I ended up taking pictures of the collection in Noisy-Le-Grand, in the suburb of Paris. This environment – the parking lot and the retro-futurist architecture designed by L. Maillard and R. Bofill in the mid 1970 – evokes the deceived idealism of those who tried to create an inclusive society.
