”A Girl Is A Gun”
My inspiration for my lingerie project was guns. Through my research I came across embellishment guns that were popular and were also used as a status symbol. I decided to parallel the gun to a woman.
Women and guns goes a long way back together - in films and media, mostly in a sexual context which took my attention and made me want to think about a different approach to the aesthetic .
My approach was to compare the characteristics of the gun to those of a woman.
A gun is a weapon full of power- it’s material, it’s use, the “power” it gives to the one who holds it but at the same time it’s sensitivity- in the wrong position, in the moment it can shoot a bullet in ecerythung tgat it is. In my translation it is as a woman. A woman is strong and powerful and also soft warm and sensitive. Lingerie is another example of this characteristic, it is soft and feminine and gives the woman a feeling of confidence and secure.

A woman can be powerful and soft.

In my design I turned the lingerie and the woman into the gun therefore-
“A Woman Is A Gun”.
