In a world dominated by luxurious fabrics and futuristic embroidery lives Florina Ivascu, an up&coming Romanian designer who drew inspiration from an elitist portrait with lines and sharp angles, highlighted by a fragile femininity.
Florina Ivascu is the Arts of Fashion 2010 contest winner in San Francisco, with the collection "Cancer Flowers" inspired by "the aestetic of ugliness" from the literary creations of French poet Baudelaire Ch. "Les fleur du mal" where Florina interprets ugly things through the artisanal beauty, overlapping textures and structures. She attended the University of Art and Design in Cluj, Romania and a Master in Fashion at Academia di Brera in Milan. During her studies she won various awards and presented her collections in San Francisco, Milan, Paris and Romania.
In july 2012 she created the Archi-Couture collection, in Paris at the Musee du Louvre, Les Arts Decoratifs. Here, Couture barriers are removed through unconventional, building modern embroidery cough, conceptualized in collaboration with Maison Lesage Paris, when she followed Arts of Fashion Masterclass in Paris. She focuses on the development of embroidery and detaild work balanced by lines and space. Her creation seeks to become a sculpture, a museum piece always trying to get attention.
In may 2013 she develop the concept of embroidery for ArtwearCollection AW 2013/14.
In september 2013 she was selected by Vogue Talent Fashion Editor- Sara Maino to be finalist on the Muuse x Vogue Talents Contest.
In November 2013 she continue to highlight the new concept for her structures with embroidery at Avanpremiere Gala where she presented her Outerwear Spring 2014 collection.
