Yue Zhou and Qi Zhang found themselves caught in the whirlwind of bespoke lingerie and avant-garde leather artefact curation following their stint at London College of Fashion, with Yue graduating in Fashion Contour and Qi in Fashion Artefact. Combining the elements of their opposing crafts they fostered a unique designing duo that brought life to the E.L.F Zhou brand. Renowned for their staple 24-carat gold plated hardware and the of continuity lace, leather and freshwater pearl elements in each range.

Coined by Yue and a personal nickname, the acronym E.L.F represents both the specialised work of the duo and Exclusive Lingerie and Leather in Fashion. By creating complimentary lingerie and leather accessories they showcase how lingerie can be redefined for the future. E.L.F offers a handcrafted and bespoke lingerie service for their private clientele that includes a London-based atelier and showroom. All materials are locally sourced from British and Italian suppliers to ensure quality and durability of all lingerie pieces and leather artefacts.

Borrowing from S&M-inspired themes, E.L.F Zhou has been able to successfully reinvigorate heavily bondaged pieces into the mainstream world of fashion and adapt the structure and perception to compliment a greater demographic of women who were previously excluded or put off by the graphic nature of harness design. Breaking down barriers between alternative lifestyles by merging them E.L.F Zhou has built a bridge to the epitome in luxury as they continue to take the leap into underwear as outerwear, and it is catching like wildfire!

Building on the aesthetic of juxtaposing the divine feminine with masculine energy, hard-hitting artefacts and masterfully crafted lingerie pieces create a storyboard for the wearer, with each collection unveiling a new narrative. Each collection becomes more reflective of the world we are living in today or the one that we are aspiring for tomorrow. Inspiration is pulled from the multicultural background of the designing duo as well as the melting-pot atmosphere London is encased in. Inspired by the contrast between the feminine mysticism of the East and avant-garde nature of the West, E.L.F Zhou finds their equilibrium somewhere between the unknown and the revamped.

Rather than being inspired by a place or particular thing, Yue finds inspiration for each new collection through linking design details with a unique mood or tone, creating the palette and array of fabrics, colours and embellishments to select from. As E.L.F continues to cover ground in the world of lingerie their space will expand throughout the ready-to-wear, made-to-measure market.
