The strong Fashion course facilitates the exploration of design theory, ethics, research methodologies, concept development, design, pattern cutting, illustration, colour, fabric and digital print. New digital technologies such as 3D printing, digital print, digital embroidery, laser cutting and the Lectra CAD/CAM design management system will be used in line with new and emerging industry practice. Students of this degree will be given the chance to qualify with additional Lectra certification.

Graduates will be well prepared for a wide range of opportunities within menswear, womenswear, textile design, creative cutting, product development, CAD/CAM process management, professional spec drawing, tech pack production and design management.

You will study through a mix of practice and theory-based learning. This will include lectures, seminars, workshops, individual tutorials, self directed study and projects. You will be supported by well-qualified teaching staff and visiting professionals from the fashion industry.

The university has an excellent support system in place for international students, including an International Student Advisory Service, an International Student Orientation Programme and specialised English Language Support tutors. These experts can help you with employability, accommodation, English language support and course content.

Head of School

While Andrew has many accolades to his credit, he is perhaps best known for his part in the launch of highly-acclaimed fashion label Pearce Fionda in 1994 with friend and business partner Reynold Pearce. Andrew has taken an active interest in teaching and inspiring students throughout his career including a period at Brighton University, Manchester Metropolitan and more recently Northbrook. Andrew is now able to enjoy managing the Pearce Fionda diffusion label Pearce11 Fionda while imparting his amazing experience and knowledge to future young British designers.

Situated at the heart of the Greenwich Peninsula on the Thames riverside, Ravensbourne is situated next door to the world's most popular music venue, The O2. The university's proximity to central London enables it to make the most of its strong links with the capital's digital media, broadcasting and design companies. The Student's Union arranges student entertainment on-campus and at the Union Square in The O2. As well as running movie and gaming nights, the union also runs a number of clubs and societies.
