D'Vaz-Sterling

D'Vaz- Sterling is a London born and raised womenswear designer. Honing an aesthetic that tends to walk the line between femininity and utilitarianism D'Vaz-Sterling's garments explore the strength and beauty of the characters she materialises within her design process. Born into a multicultural background, inspiration was not so hard to find between the intersections of British, Indian and Caribbean culture in her family households. Influenced by the tough older generations of women in her family her collections explore the journey these women made when immigrating here in the '50s alongside the 'what if's?' of if her ancestors from the late 19th century moved here in the present day. D'Vaz-Sterling has a keen interest in mixing both historical and modern day garment references reimagining and fantasising what people from the past might wear today. D'Vaz- Sterling aims to create clothes that champion diversity and a multicultural Britain.
