Inspired by Alchemy (al-kimiya), this Vivienne Morgan Millinery collection celebrates the ancient art of changing one substance to another. Alchemists believed that combining the four elements in certain ratios could produce gold or even life itself. This Alchemic concept of transmutation is evoked in this collection by transforming traditional millinery materials such as feathers into the unexpected, to achieve paradoxical and stunning results – feathers appear as if the tips have been dipped into molten gold.
