The Precious One is the story of my grandmother who loved and nurtured me in my formative years. My grandmother is now elderly and suffers from Alzheimer's. Many years have passed since my grandmother was a young mother and wife.
Everyday memories are lost, this collection is a means to record and archive her precious memories. The collection is filled with colorful prints to celebrate her youth, life and fading memories. I want the collection to capture her optimism, while illustrating through distortion the devastating effects of a woman suffering from Alzheimer’s.
