In developing FOLD, I've transposed my experience of textiles and other materials into jewelry. Exploring the endless possibilities, fragility and texture that result when paper is folded around the body.
Dents, cracks and creases appear naturally in paper, in metal the opposite is true. In a way FOLD is about who, or what, has control, the material or me? Deconstructivism is the key influence. Specifically, the absence of – and search for – harmony, continuity, or symmetry are sensibilities that characterise this collection.
