Scarobaeodea-The Beetle

Scarobaeodea-The Beetle

Upon death in ancient Egypt, it was believed that one’s heart was measured in lightness against the feather of a goddess, and if found wanting it would be devoured by a monster never to find the afterlife. The guarantee of protection to mask the faults of the heart was a scarab amulet, the beetle’s shining carapace a beautiful jewel and the only shield against the sins of living.
