AnaTomy [ə'nætəmɪ] 2010
This project started off as a reaction against the mannequin, its fixed shapes, either male or female. Searching for the body in between I peeled off the layers to find a skeleton underneath like a common sexless ground. My AnaTomy is an androgynous form, a bearer of an exoskeletal corset, a (dis)functional anatomy with bearing construction to lift or carry itself. Who is wearing who? Is it the wearer that carries the garment or the garment that wears the bearer?
