Buy, wear, throw away, repeat. There’s been a transformational shift in the way we produce, associate and attire garments, which has major social and environmental costs for people and the planet.
The traditional recycling practise of destroying/cutting a garment is inevitable in order to create something new. This project wants to explore how end-uses of old garments can be unfolded and renewed in the process and final result. The following research areas are studies fostering new zero waste recycling and garment re-construction methods without the use of a scissor.
