Two years ago in 2016 I decided to launch MATTOX as a response to what I (and others) see as wastefulness in the fashion industry. After many years developing luxury leather products I challenged myself to develop a construction process for accessories that was free from the traditional factory manufacture processes linked to ‘fast fashion’. I wanted to make artisanal limited edition pieces that used locally sourced high-end materials in a creative and sculptural way.
