AN ACTIVE DISTURBANCE

AN ACTIVE DISTURBANCE

‘An Active Disturbance’ explores the ways in which shapes are disrupted by the wearer's movement and how garments are physically shifted by active impact. These garment structures are forced into taking new forms and embodying characteristics caused by motion, such as puckering, creasing and distortion of silhouette. Asymmetry is a significant feature; an action such as twisting and stretching causes one sleeve to shift across the body while the other drapes backward, or affects the way the shirt collar sits on either side of the neck.
