This outerwear collection is an introspective of my mental and emotional journey during THESE uncertain times. The 2016 election result had a traumatic effect on my psyche. As a Black creative in America I started to feel pessimistic as the country changed. Liberties became encroached upon and violence and race relations got worse. I was forced to retreat inwards for a perspective that would help me make sense of the current climate. This journey led me to my African ancestors. Their struggles, their survival, their protests.
