My collection has been influenced by Camille Paglia in terms
of exploring and challenging stereotypical views of masculinity
and femininity. I am also interested in the concept of ‘ready-mades’ and working
on bringing Surrealist principles into my work like massively oversized ties or re-appropriating the man’s shirt. The key piece in my collection is an oversized and structured shirt inspired by Michelangelo’s David. The feminine side of the collection is translated in the flamboyant prints and dramatically draped tulle, which also refers back to the surrealism.
