Clara Siegenthaler has been working for the premium brand COMMA as fashion designer since 1.5 years and currently her responsibilities are creating initial design ideas for occasional and business dresses.

Besides, she manages the family business SIEGENTHALER, where sustainable and handmade leather accessories are being produced in Germany.

While she worked for the luxury brand RENÉ LEZARD for two years, she became an expert in designing blouses, dresses, suits, leather styles and accessories.

Within two years, she has passed the various parts of master in custom tailoring and has received the master diploma certificate after she graduated fashion design and pattern making very successfully at one of Germany´s best fashion schools FAHMODA. During her studies she worked with JILL STUART in New York and various German fashion labels.

She has learned that the creative as well as the technical and hand-crafted aspect is profound for an excellent design.

Latest Collection

memento mori

The sustainable produced couture collection „memento mori“ for the autumn-/winter season 16/17 symbolizes the conceptual analysis of consciousness raising of transience and death.

The collection was being inspired by the baroque vanitas-principle “memento mori” – being aware of mortality and the designer´s personal experience of her fathers death.

On an aesthetic level the collection is focused on the contrast between organic patterns and linear pleats structure. The transience of life is represented by antlers and skulls of deer’s.
Linear pleats structure symbolizes stability and order and are countered to organic Elements.

In the age of recycling it´s about reversion to traditional kinds of fashion and production methods.
By using biodegradable materials of animal origin either recycled or produced ecological fully-recovery is paramount of diverse materials and fabrics nature is giving to mankind since thousands of years.

Overall my work stands for originality and extravagancy. The collection is featured by an avant-garde look for trendy women are interested in sustainable fashion.
