CHAL is a contemporary footwear brand founded in 2022 by Indian designer Malvika Agarwal. Known for its androgynous and functional designs, the company focuses on creating comfortable shoes while working towards making an eco-conscious design. The company focuses on redefining the feminine aesthetic and is aiming to bridge the gender equation between male and female footwear.

The brand draws its influence from the materials it uses (upcycled tyre and garment waste) and the culture that surrounds it.

Agarwal, born in 1997 is very inspired by the simplicity that surrounded her when she was a child in india. Fashion was just starting to become a thing amongst the common class of people with economic prosperity and adaptation of comfortable clothing from the west had started to take place. She wishes to go back to a time of essentialism and is working on creating a shoe that people save up for. Agarwal comes from an industrial design background and incorporates the principle of bauhaus in everyday design.
