"Cats and Patterns" was formed by Olga Profutkina, an Ireland based designer,graduate of Limerick School of Art and Design (Limerick Institute of Technology).Previously,she studied pattern drafting in Milan."Cats and Patterns" focuses on use of quirky prints and creating fashion collections with incorporation of art and crafts elements such as embroidery,patchwork,applique. As a designer,Olga experiments through use of innovative cut , texture and structure to pursue unconventional techniques in construction. The freedom of exploring shapes, theatricality and appreciation of craft, creates collections with eccentric aesthetic.Olga was one of the finalists in Triumph Inspiration Award,Ireland(2012); Golden Egg Fashion Innovation Award(2014),Kerry Fashion Award(2014).
Olga's graduate collection represented LSAD in The International Catwalk Competition,GFW,London and in many media involvements including being featured on RTE's program "Nationwide" and a Limerick City of Culture advert.
