Another Creation

Yr Thrastardottir, Creative Director of Another Creation has been bathed in the ancient mythology of Iceland since her childhood.
Her name evocative of the mountains and clear water of Iceland means an arrow in the ancient mythology. “My inspiration comes from the harsh Icelandic landscape.
Leading material in my collections are made from Icelandic sheep skin, natural leather,
coloured leather and sheep fur.”
Natural Icelandic product is enhanced by brilliant Italian cutting and finishing from leading factory whose client base includes many recognized Italian brands.
She graduated in fashion from the Iceland Academy of Arts and her first highly celebrated collection was characterized by originality, clean lines and brilliant details.
Ýr celebrates the female form in exquisitely tailored garments.
She uses natural and beautiful fabrics and textures within the garment and incorporates distinctive graphic prints. Recent work includes award winning costume designs and styling for the
Icelandic Opera and Iceland Dance Company, and many costumes for film both Icelandic and
foreign productions, she has worked on music videos for bands such as Zebra Katz, Mammút, Berndsen etc. She has also done magazine covers for Reykjavík Fashion and design and worked on local and
international commercials.
Yr also references her many months living in China, inspired by the silk industry south of Shanghai. Yr is interested in creating timeless silhouettes that last longer than one season.
