Amehl

Amehl is the fashion label of contemporary interdisciplinary artist Amanda Mehl, who grew up in the fashion world as the daughter of fashion designer Beverly Mehl. Amanda combines her art background and fashion industry experience to create a unique product that is progressive, bold, creative and experimental while still very flattering and wearable.
The collection integrates unexpected materials such as PVC, staples and duct tape. The pieces have a mixed-media sculptural quality to them which incorporates composition, color, line and form.
The inspirations for this collection were the Memphis architecture movement (which is about geometric forms, lines and bright colors), superheroes, transformers and retro toys, pop art, glam rock (David Bowie has always been a huge inspiration for the artist/designer) and 90's punk teens of Camden Town. It's nostalgia done in a super futuristic way.
The quality of the garments is amazing and details are very important. The linings, zippers, snaps and hardware are all incorporated into the design of the garment and nothing is coincidental.
Most importantly fashion should be a fun way of self expression and not take itself too seriously. Cool young energy and playfulness are key to the Amehl look.
