Skip Bias examines the intersection between fashion and feminism. A sense of exuberance pervades the collection in the juxtaposition of work wear and pure frivolity. The proposal is of a joyous yet hardened femininity, a sense of effortless power and a playful approach to reality based dressing. The feeling of a controlled, intellectual sexiness is balanced by a sense of facetiousness. This collection creates cleaner looks, playing on garment archetypes and subverting them with the ruffles. There is a considered and intelligent approach to colour - allowing the ruffles to do the talking means creating dimension and light with colour.

Research into the suffragettes provided a starting point from which to explore ideas about femininity, and the ways in which dress can be used to subvert expectations. Archetypal garments are examined and twisted through a feeling of excess in regards to colour and light. These garments express a playful sexiness, a relaxed sense of humour, allowing feminism to become more intricately involved with fashion.
