Just finished my Degree in Fashion Design in NCAD and currently working on a couple of projects in Dublin. I'm really interested in working with anyone who's interested ie Photographers, Artists, Stylists etc so get in touch.

Research for this collection is centred on the work of three Artists. The first two of whom explore the areas of light and colour and the third deals with interchangablility within garments. The first two Artists are light installation artist Dan Flavin and Sculptor Tobias Rehberger. They deal with colour and transparency that is both striking and yet subtle. The design concept has been affected on nearly all levels in terms of colour, shape, form, silhouette and texture by the work of these two Artists respectively. The interplay of colour is important, especially when layered and juxtaposed in ways that makes it both pleasing to the eye and intriguing to the mind. The third Artist is Lucy Orta who deals with garments and how their state can be altered by the body and exterior elements, giving them structure (e.g. tents that become overcoats and backpacks that become sleeping bags). “…light is, first and foremost a physical phenomenon, to which the body reacts without premeditation, instinctively…it does not surprise me that the Dan Flavin’s most spontaneous admirers are children-spirits free from often burdensome notions and biases” This collection is light-hearted, childlike and whimsical through use of colour and shape. The aim was to create a range of garment components that can be mixed and styled to alter an overall Sportswear look that is somewhat unisex. The collection investigates subtlety in layering transparent fabrics to create intense colour. It aims to attract the eye in an innate way, similar to light in the above extract. I want to explore colour by way of fabric investigation, specifically Cyan Magenta Yellow and BlacK. Colour intensity is achieved and heightened through the use of contradictory fabrics like plastic, latex, acrylic and silks.
