Rey Chacón, born in San Salvador, 1990. Outstanding designer and entrepreneur, has been creator and part of several initiatives to educate and recognize Salvadoran design in the region. Being one of the rst designers to creates clothes for men, and the rst to create a complete menswear
collection.
He founded the design brand XAKON in 2011, taking on the professional world with a new proposal in the Salvadoran market, highlighting their risky silhouettes and very revolutionary concepts for a very conservative public.
Designing since then, complete collections and small editions for Holidays. He is part of a generation of designers that highlighted and changed the way Salvadorans viewed design. In 2013 he creates, together with other designers, the Design Week of El Salvador, IDWEEK, with international positioning by
ICSID and WIDD.
Rey has been part of several fashion catwalks throughout her professional life. UDB Runways, KLDSCP12, KLDSCP13 byKOTEX, El Salvador Fashion Week 2011, London Street Style by the British Embassy in El Salvador, designing 9 collections from 2011 to date.
These achievements led him to be recognized and integrated as a teacher in courses and degrees in Fashion Design from before obtaining his university degree.
He studied all his school life in a private Salesian institution, including the university. Graduating in Industrial Design and Products in 2015, crowning his professional career, being awarded for the Best Fashion Portfolio of his generation, and as a Outstanding Student of the School of Graphic and Industrial Design (EDGI) of the Don Bosco University.
Currently works at two universities as a professor in Fashion Design and Industrial Design, as well as Creative Director at El Salvador's Design Week
(IDWEEK) and Co-Founder at the Salvadoran Fashion Association.
