Ella Hunt is a London based Fashion and Textile designer, specialising in Print.

Her work explores bold colour combinations alongside an aesthetic that creates a sense of nostalgia with a modern, futuristic twist. She uses diverse techniques and fabrics throughout her collections from crystal pleated digital patterns, debossed wool, cross dyed devoré, screen printing, and heat transferred flock, foil, and vinyl.

She has collaborated with numerous designers including Caitlin Batchelor, for a Menswear Collection, Gabriella Corya, a lingerie designer, and Holly Falcus, a Womenswear graduate from London College of Fashion.

As well as personal projects and freelance textile work, Ella has worked as a freelance illustrator for online publications such as Polyester Magazine, F Word, and Crows Nest Zine. Her illustration style, much like her print style, combines the use of hand drawn techniques, such as fine line and pencil, with digital collage. Some of her illustrations were recently shown at an exhibition at Omeara Gallery, London, as part of an event that celebrated young female artists.

Interiors and Fashion cross over throughout different aspects of Ella’s work. In January Ella won the UK award for the Epson Design for Living 2017 competition, which was shown at the Heimtexil Textile Design Trade show in Frankfurt, Germany. Her designs were printed during the show onto cushion covers and bags using the desktop SureColor SC-F2000 direct-to-garment printer. She was also recently commissioned to create upholstery fabrics that were used on armchairs.

Previous work experience includes a four month placement within the design department at Mary Katrantzou, an internship at Kitty Joseph, work experience at, luxury fashion house, Burberry, and as part of the team in the Head Office of London Textile Fair. Her experience has given her the knowledge and understanding of how different types of brands with different budgets, customers, and global reputation operate.
