My name is Francesca Nori and I was born in Bracciano, a beautiful town between nature and history in the province of Rome.
I grew up in the family cinema-theatrical tailoring and I have in my blood the artisan verve from iron working to tailoring inherited from the family in a creative short circuit that merged in me Following my childhood, I believe that creativity can also be expressed through the use of the poorest and most obsolete material. Determined and with a passion for fashion, after graduating in Accounting and Commercial Expert, I graduated with 110 cum laude in Costume & Fashion at the Academy of Costume and Fashion in Rome; I take part in training projects such as Salvatore Ferragamo's in collaboration with Future Concept Lab and in 2017 I am selected as a talent to show my first collection in Altaroma and later as a finalist at the Milano Moda Graduate.
Selected as a 2017 talent for Altaroma, in creating “Fruit Leather” my first capsule Collection, the son-in-law of experiments on leftover materials; from waste fabrics and leathers from the tailor shop where I grew up, to organic waste, in particular I focus on the texture of the peel of the pineapple fruit, a research that I deepen in my degree thesis, "Organic matter as a new fashion metabolism ."
After graduation, supported also by my family, I invest the savings to give concrete voice to the project, undertaking a "feasibility study" on my intuition and on the material previously developed to be considered only as a "starting point." In 2018, thanks to the support with an Italian chemical company, (external to the project and which has chosen to remain anonymous) I am able to validate the idea by stabilizing the waste peel of the pineapple fruit followed by the first results of the material (later Ananasse), as an innovative production process that can be replicated industrially and a patent, later extended to an international PCT. In 2019, while working behind the scenes on the unprecedented project, as a member of the new "Made in Lazio" Creativity Club of the regional Creative Industry, I have the opportunity to increase my experiences as a fashion designer, participating in various and important national and international projects to promote the sector. In January 2020, parallel to the advent of new vegetable "skins" as well as an increasingly circular economy, Vérabuccia was born together with Fabrizio Moiani, the identifying brand of an innovative production process as a new type of truly peel experimental materials, which does not they fall neither in the category of fabric nor in that of animal skin, with the future aim of being able to generate additional materials such as Ananasse from the recovery of the peel of other fruits. Following the start-up and development of Vérabuccia as well as through constant dialogue with chemists, engineers and other figures in the sector outside the project, I acquire new and continuous skills in the field of innovative / sustainable materials. Today as a small entrepreneur of my idea I deal with communication, design and the continuous research of Vérabuccia.
