Almagro Couture is a brand that envisions beauty, art and elegance which magnifies femininity, working with precious materials, delicate embroideries with outstanding quality. Each creation is formed with research, life experience, unique insight and a discerning eye for design standards in the process of creating each piece of clothing to very strict vision.

The label's speciality is to create a dress to highlight a woman’s figure whilst maintaining a form of sophistication. Most of the dresses are handmade utilizing simple meticulous cuts, precious fabrics, and pattern appliqué; following the adaptation of diverse modern art and historical inspirations into a contemporary wearable design.

Almagro Couture was founded by Joana Almagro who was born and raised in the Philippines moving to United Kingdom in 2008 to further develop the skills and knowledge of western high street and couture fashion. Joana graduated at Slim’s Fashion and Art School in Makati, Philippines in 2006 and currently is furthering her studies in Art and design at Manchester's prestigious Metropolitan University.

Interests in travel and passion for design have found her in all the major fashion and important artistic locations in Europe, Paris, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Seville, London, Vienna, Rome and Manchester for inspiration. Her thirst for motivation to all genres in art and design broadens her perspective in fashion which shows professionalism and diversity when the designs are created. Joana Almagro’s creations are the sole heart of savoir faire and excellence of her achievements.

Almagro Couture's aspiration is to continue the growth of awareness in her designs and to assimilate influences across the world. Her philosophy is to create women not just in a dress but to give importance to women wearing her iconic dress. “Faca me uma Estrela” which means “Make me a Star”.
