Akiko is originally from Japan and moved to New York for studying product design and jewelry design.
She studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology and the Persons School of Design, where she obtained a degree in product design, majoring in metals.
All her pieces are produced in her studio in the industrial neighborhood of Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Her designs are simplified, abstract version of manmade objects and are often like beautiful, tiny sculptures.
Each piece is hand crafted. Akiko works with all kinds of metals but mostly with 925 silver and 999 plate.

beroep|tech represents everyday jewelry for everyone, inspired by everyday surrounds included typographic symbols or stationaries.
She enjoys to approach different identities through work and they are simplified to the edge of abstraction and show how the timeless essence of beauty and good design are ultimately her guides.
