YLVA is back with THIRTEEN

She has designed for successful Swedish labels like Tiger of Sweden, Odd Molly and J. Lindeberg. But despite her impact on several of the country’s leading brands, she is probably best known for her own label YLVA.
Ylva Liljefors created her own label during studies at Beckman’s Design College. It was also during that period that she created costumes for pop and rock stars like Robyn, The Ark and Linda Sundblad. In 2002 she won the Golden Button award, a prize issued once a year to Sweden’s best designer.
Now the designer has re-launched her own label YLVA with a new collection. The brand maintains its original attitude, using a mixture of high-quality natural materials.
“This is fashion for women who want to feel elegant in a feminine way, with a beautiful rock n’ roll feeling,” says Ylva

AW13 THIRTEEN

The collection is inspired by contrasts: black/shiny, dull/flaming, punk/soft.
A glamorous, punk style emerges from a collage of fur, checkered fabric and leather. A biker jacket made of fur, leather shorts and checkered blouses are all part of the mix.
The color palette is comprised of off-white, chocolate with a dash of icy-blue.
“The THIRTEEN collection is feminine. We're using exclusive materials to make clothing with clean Scandinavian lines which still has a rock’n’roll edge,” says Ylva.
The name of the collection is derived from the number of different styles it features, as well as a punk attitude that is as timely and right in 2013 as it was in 1977.
