Joskai is an artisanal and textile focused brand working closely with the grass – root level weavers of the ethnic communities in various clusters of India , along with innovation in textile techniques. The brand co-creates designs with the artisans, sourcing local fabrics to sustain the culture of weaving . The collection also reflects in-house hand made prints in vibrant colors reflecting the designer’s signature style and inspirations.

Established in 2021 , the creative force behind the brand is Sujaya Hazarika who graduated from NIFT, Bangalore and then completed her MA in Fashion from Polimoda , Italy.

Belonging to a region and country which is rich in its culture and textiles , she has intensively travelled through the various craft clusters of North- East India to understand the origin and making of the textiles in her home state , Assam. After working in the industry for several years , she now aims to bring her passion for authentic textiles , art prints and constructed silhouettes to life through her brand vision.
