Jovana Filipovic is fashion designer and fashion illustrator from Macedonia.
She started her brand “Jovana Filipovic” in 2010, when she graduated from Accademia Italiana, and within the past several years she has already established herself as innovative and authentic designer.
She stood out from the emerging fashion designers in Macedonia, receiving acclaim not only for her designs, but also for her boisterous talent and innovative method of work.
Guided by the rule less is more, Jovana Filipovic tend to portray and emphasize the beauty of simplicity and pureness.
Using high quality, natural fabrics, she always insists in creating comfortable and fashionably-designed clothes that are clean, minimalistic.
In 2010 she was chosen as one of three best students on Accademia Italiana, and got the chance to present her graduation collection in Florence, Italy.
In 2012, she won the "Spark of Inspiration - Pelisterka Bottle Fashion Contest" . Аward for best fashion - graphic bottle design, and therefore received a grant and sponsorship for the collection for AW 2012/2013.
Same year she collaborated with the Spanish jewellery company Aristocrazy ,located in Madrid, which collection was presented in Madrid Fashion Week in October, 2012.
In the last six years she presented her collections on Fashion Weekend Skopje, Belgrade Fashion Week, Design Week in Skopje.
In October, 2014, she won the award for best fashion collection, on the 10th edition of Fashion Weekend Skopje.
Her designs are already recognizable in domestic and international markets - Switzerland, Berlin, Serbia and Macedonia.
in 2014 she opened her fashion studio in Skopje, Macedonia.

After reading the piece titled “Power Dressing-On Fashion and Regulation Clothing,” in the forth issue of the magazine Vestoj it made me think deeper about the psychology behind the creation of a garment. The psychology behind wearing a garment / uniform that exert power, position, status…

Did we became the modern soldiers of 21st century, uniformed and unified with one illusional idea of a dress / uniform that Hermann Broch explained it as “the fantasy that our fragile body will be complete”.?

It is a collection that exerts many many questions and never ending answers about our persona and our identity. About: Who we are? What we are? Why we are?

Are we uniforming our life on daily basis or is it the daily needs, the objects and the patterns of the social life that uniforms us?

In the collection ID-entity 2020, that duality is presented though power pieces that show off; however, the “loudness” is lost in the narrowed palette as beige, black, silver and blue.

Tailoring remains key element again and it is well rooted in the brand’s DNA. The blazers and the vests are boyish in its proportions, and come with and adjustable zipper on the waist and the back, in order to be able to show off or hide in.

Long kaki military tunic and the effortlessly silk dresses are complimented with military high waist trousers and shorts that are adorned with details. The pockets (which are a big emphasis in the collection) as well as medals, straps and chains are the perfect finish on the whole look.

All the pieces from the collection are complementary one with another and give the wearer a freedom to build a uniform, which tells a a story to the world; who is she/he and what is her/his IDENTITY.
