Graduation year

I have been a designer in the fashion industry for over twenty five years in both the UK and US markets. I graduated from St. Martins School of Art. I have taught at the Royal College of Art (MA Course) Southampton University, Winchester School of Art, Fashion Department (BA Course) where I mentored students developing their final collections for graduate fashion week (GFW), as well as being a visiting lecturer at The London Centre for Fashion Studies in Hanoi, Viet-Nam.

Besides this, I piloted a new programme ‘Concept 2 Catwalk’ a fast track course for designers to develop a commercially viable product line from concept through to pre-production and ultimately sales and a catwalk show. During the last few years I have also mentored a number of graduates and start up fashion businesses assisting them with portfolio presentation to secure work in the industry.

My ready-to-wear brand has previously retailed worldwide for over a decade and garnered wide international public and press acclaim with features in Elle (UK and US), The Face, ID, W and the Guardian as well as numerous trade publications including WWD, International Textiles, Lingerie Buyer, Intima, Underlines, Swimwear Yearbook and WGSN.

As well as running my own brand Sea Sirens: a holistic swim and resort wear collection, targeting high-end boutiques and spas worldwide. I have been head designer at several ready-to-wear and sportswear companies in the UK and in the USA. I have created swimwear/active wear collections for an array of established companies ranging from large distribution groups, such as Sara Lee and Liz Claiborne in the USA, to exclusive high-end labels including the currently re-branding British heritage brand Liberty. I’ve also worked as a design consultant for Courtaulds, a major supplier to Marks and Spencer, and more recently developed the swimwear collection for the iconic brand ‘Biba’ for House Of Fraser.
I am presently teaching at Regents College in London as well as studying for an MA in Fashion and the Environment at the London College of Fashion.
