Utamaduni wear is a fashion and lifestyle brand based in Nairobi Kenya. Our aim has been to change the face of African fashion by making one of a kind pieces that match the new beat of modern Africa. We design all our collections with an African foundation, ensuring that we use African fabric, tribal print or tribal finishings to embelish the final design. We merge these basic foundations with modern cuts and trends to create unique, wearable collections.
Utamaduni wear collections have ranged from bright tribal print baby doll dresses, playfull day dresses in African wax, ultra feminine sillhouettes in African lace and long luxurious animal print maxi’s. We have also added a mens line that used 100% organic African cotton to make breathable, comfortable summer classic pieces. We have recently branched out into making a shoe line with oxfords, boots, open toe sandal boots, lace up shoes etc. Although we are an African design house we enjoy using tribal elements from all over the world, creating an interesting blend of tribal energy from Africa, India, Asia and native America. We design for the young and the young at heart, so we are constantly designing pieces that are on the leading edge of innovation. We ensure that all our items are extremly well finished using clean lines and the perfect fit.
All items from utamaduni wear are made in Africa using fair labor by well skilled artisans. Mass production is always made using reputable factories and workshops which we have built years of relationships with and who we hold accountable to our standards of quality and ethics. The combination of our design process, our fresh take on fashion and items made from love and passion results in a unique brand that is both innovative and unique.
