Shopping Terms & Conditions
The Online Shop at NOT JUST A LABEL is a service of NOT JUST A LABEL Ltd. ("NOT JUST A LABEL" / "NJAL" / ”Website”) provided solely for customers’ personal use for the sale of clothing, accessories and other Items ("Items"). Access to and use of this Website and the products and services available through this Website are subject to the following terms, conditions and notices.
NJAL has taken great care to ensure that the Items on its website are presented as accurately as possible. However, colour clarity will depend upon customers’ own personal monitors and NJAL therefore cannot guarantee that the colour of the actual Item is absolutely accurate. Customers should read through these Terms before placing an order.
To be eligible to purchase Items on this Website customers must:
- Be the holder of a valid debit/credit card.
- Warrant that the personal information, which customers are required to provide when placing an order is true, accurate and current in all respects.
Customers agree not to impersonate any other person or entity or to use a false name or a name that the customer is not authorised to use. By using this site customers agree to comply with, and be bound by, these Terms. NJAL may from time to time change these Terms at its sole discretion. By using this Website after any such change(s), customers agree to comply with, and be bound by, the Terms as changed.
Making A Purchase
When a customer orders an Item from NOT JUST A LABEL the customer is offering to buy it for the price stated, subject to these Terms. The customer will be guided through the process of placing an order by a series of instructions on the Website. The customer places an order for Items from the Website by completing the online order process. Once a customer has placed an order, they will receive an email from NJAL, acknowledging the exact details of the order.
Unless NJAL notifies the customer that their order has not been accepted, or the customer has cancelled their order in accordance with the Returns policy set out below, NJAL’s acceptance of the customer’s order and the completion of the contract between the customer and NJAL will take place when the customer receives an email from NJAL confirming the Items they have ordered.
NJAL’s acceptance of the customer’s order will be deemed complete and received by the customer at the time and date of sending of the email, which time and date is specified on the email. The deemed time and date of receipt by the customer shall apply regardless of whether, for reasons outside NJAL’s control, the customer has not received that email.
NJAL may not accept a customer’s order if:
- An item the customer has ordered is out of stock,
- NJAL is unable to obtain authorisation for the customer’s payment or,
- If NJAL identifies a product or pricing error. NJAL reserves the right to reject any offer to purchase by a customer at any time and at the sole discretion of NJAL.
If NJAL is unable to fulfil a customer’s order following NJAL’s order acknowledgement, NJAL will contact the customer by email or telephone advising them of this. See the Returns policy set out below. NJAL will try to keep its Website as up to date as reasonably possible but cannot guarantee that any particular Item will always be available. If NJAL can't supply any Item it will release the funds being held in the customer’s account for the purchase.
All prices indicated for Items for which designers use NJAL as a transaction platform are inclusive of the respective taxes of the country the designer is based in, however only if the designer is VAT registered and are quoted in Pounds Sterling.
Discounts may be offered to selected customers at NJAL’s complete discretion. Discount privileges may be withdrawn at any time in relation to any Order that has not been acknowledged.
Payment can be made using all major credit and debit cards through the SagePay HSBC Secure ePayments tool, or via PayPal. The customer confirms that the credit/debit card that is being used is their own or that they have been specifically authorised by the owner of the credit/debit card to use it. All credit/debit card holders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of the customer’s payment card refuses to authorise payment to NJAL, NJAL will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery.
NJAL takes all reasonable care to make its Site secure. NJAL does not store customers’ credit card details on its systems, however all other details will be fully encrypted and only used to process the order which the customer has initiated. To help ensure that the customer’s shopping experience is safe, simple and secure, NJAL uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology provided by Digicert Inc., the industry standard in transferring information to process customer orders.
Furthermore, NJAL will take all reasonable care, in so far as it is in its power to do so, to keep the details of customers’ orders and payments secure, but in the absence of negligence on NJAL’s part, NJAL cannot be held liable for any loss the customer may suffer if a third party procures unauthorised access to any data the customer provides when accessing or ordering from the Site.
The customer’s credit card company may undertake an additional security check to confirm it is the customer making the order. NJAL or its designers will retain the legal ownership of the Items until full payment has been made by the customer, and such payment has been received by NJAL. Legal ownership of the Items will immediately revert to NJAL or its designers if it refunds any such payment to the customer. Risk in the Items will pass to the customer on delivery to them.
NJAL and its designers aim to deliver the customer’s chosen items to the place and person of their choice, in perfect condition and in the shortest possible time. Please note, your order will come directly from the designer’s studio and the product description states what country your order will be shipped from. Designers provide delivery methods that are subject to a thorough quality control process by NJAL in order to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
Please order from NOT JUST A LABEL with enough lead-time to prevent any loss or disappointment resulting from the delivery time, as NJAL cannot be responsible for this.
The delivery time frame for In Stock items is usually between 2 and 5 working days. However, delivery times are dependent on when the order is processed and on the designer’s and customer’s location. NJAL operates Monday to Friday excluding UK public holidays and orders are not processed outside of this. Estimated delivery times are to be used as a guide only and commence from the date the order is processed. NJAL and its designers are not responsible for any delays caused by any local customs clearance processes.
For Made to Order Items delivery times can vary between 2-4 weeks from order processed date.
If the customer’s order cannot be delivered within the timeframe specified at the time the order is placed, NJAL will notify the customer and try to rectify the situation as quickly as is practically possible. All new orders are deemed separate and each is treated individually.
Please note that NJAL and its designers aim to dispatch all orders within 2 working days, excluding bank holidays. NJAL and its designers are not responsible for any delays caused by any local customs clearance processes. Taking into account that all items are delivered directly from the designers, if a customer has multiple items within their order, these items may be delivered at different times.
Tax & Duties
If the customer orders goods for delivery outside of the EU or purchases items from a designer based outside of their country or trading zone, please note that the customer’s purchase may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the goods reach the country of destination. Any such charges levied in relation to customs clearance must be borne by the customer. It is accepted by the customer that NJAL or its designers have no control over additional charges in relation to customs clearance. NJAL recommends that the customer checks with their local customs officials or post office for more information regarding importation taxes/duties that may be applicable to their online order.

NJAL and its designers insure each purchase during the time it is in transit until it is delivered to the customer’s specified delivery address. NJAL requires a signature for any goods delivered, at which point responsibility for the customer’s purchased goods passes to the customer. If the customer has specified a recipient who is not themselves for delivery purposes (for example as a gift) then the customer accepts that evidence of a signature by this recipient (or at that delivery address) is evidence of delivery and fulfilment by NJAL and transfer of responsibility in the same way.
NJAL and its designers shall have no liability to the customer for any failure to deliver goods they have ordered or any delay in doing so or for any damage or defect to goods delivered that is caused by any event or circumstance beyond its reasonable control.
Refunds & Returns
NJAL wants to ensure the customer’s complete satisfaction. For online purchases of in-stock items, NJAL and its designers will accept Items not worn, used or damaged for a full refund as set out below. Customer satisfaction is NJAL’s top priority, and as such it handles each query on an individual basis to the best of its ability. While NJAL hopes that the customer is delighted with their order, if they are not perfectly satisfied with the goods NJAL will happily offer a full refund or exchange. In order to receive a refund or exchange, the item(s) must be unworn and in perfect condition, with all labels attached and in the original packaging. Please follow the steps below:
On confirmation from the designer of receipt of the item we will issue a full refund, or exchange the item for a different size / colour if preferred and available. Please note:
- The customer must notify NJAL of their intentions to return the Item within 48 hours of delivery and apply for a RMC (Return Merchandise Code) code.
- Once provided with the RMC code, items must be returned within 14 days of the date of the return request. Returns outside these timeframes will not be accepted.
- The item is the customer’s responsibility until it reaches the designer. For the customer’s own protection, NJAL recommends that the customer sends the parcel using a delivery service that insures the value of the goods.
- The cost of returning the item to the designer is the customer’s responsibility. All successfully returned items will be credited to the account used to originally purchase the items, less any taxes, import duties or shipping charges incurred. International customs duties and sales taxes are not refunded for any shipments. This process can take up to 30 days. With exchanges, the customer’s new item(s) will be shipped to them as soon as the designer receives its returning package and any additional payment which is required.
All successfully returned items will be only credited to the account used to originally purchase the items, less any taxes, import duties or shipping charges incurred. Please note: New and unused means that there are no marks on the item or any wear on the tags. NJAL does not sell used items and will not accept any item with any indication that it was used. In such cases, the item will be returned to the purchaser. NJAL and its designers are not responsible for any item that is not returned in the manner set forth above.
Shoes: All shoes must be tried on a carpeted surface until the customer is certain they are keeping them. Shoes should be returned unmarked and in their original, undamaged shoebox as this is considered part of the product. Shoes that are returned without a box, in a damaged box or with marked soles may not be accepted, and may be sent back to the customer.
Intimate Apparel: Briefs, swimming costumes and bikini bottoms should be tried on over underwear, without removing the protective adhesive strip. Returns may not be accepted if this strip has been removed or if items are soiled, and may be sent back to the customer.
Please be aware that items that are Made to Order are not refundable. Made To Order Items are bespoke and our designers only start production after an order has been placed. International customs duties and sales taxes are not refunded for any shipments.
If you have received an item from NOT JUST A LABEL as a gift you can exchange it for another item of the same value or more provided you pay the cost difference and the additional shipping, taxes, and import duties, and any additional charges which may incur as a result of exchange.
Copyright & Trademarks
All content available on the Website, including, but not limited to, text, graphics, logos, button, icons, images, audio clips, data compilations, and software, and the compilation thereof (the "Content") is the property of NJAL, its designers, its partners or its licensors, and is protected by UK and international copyright laws.
The trade marks, logos, and service marks displayed on the Website (collectively, the "Trade Marks") are the registered and unregistered marks of NJAL, its designers, its licensors or its partners, in the UK and other countries, and are protected by UK and international trade mark laws. All or any other trade marks not owned by NJAL, its affiliates, its partners or its licensors that appear on the Website are the property of their respective owners, who may or may not be affiliated with, connected to, or sponsored by NJAL.
Neither the Content, the Trade Marks, nor any other portion of the Website may be used, reproduced, duplicated, copied, sold, resold, accessed, modified, or otherwise exploited, in full or in part, for any purpose without NJAL’s prior written consent.
These terms and conditions, together with the current NJAL website prices, delivery details and NJAL contact details, set out the whole of the agreement relating to the supply of the goods to customers by NOT JUST A LABEL. These terms and conditions cannot be varied except in writing signed by a director of NJAL.
Customers’ use of this Website and any purchase by them of any Item from NOT JUST A LABEL shall be governed by English law and the customer hereto submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
NJAL will treat all customers’ personal details as confidential and will only disclose this information in the circumstances set out below. NJAL will keep it on a secure server and will comply with UK Data Protection legislation in relation to the use of customers’ personal data. When customers register on this Website, or make a purchase NJAL will ask the customer to input and will collect personal details from the customer such as name, e-mail address, billing address, telephone number. NJAL may also collect, and its third party providers may collect, information about where the customer is on the internet (e.g. the URL they came from, IP address, domain types like .co.uk and .com), their browser type, the country and telephone area code where the customer’s computer is located, the pages of NJAL’s website that were viewed during the customer’s visit, any advertisements the customer may have clicked on, and any search terms that the customer entered on the Website. NJAL confirms that any personal details which the customer provides to us (or which are available on public registers) and any user information, from which NJAL can identify the customer, is held in accordance with the registration NJAL has with the Information Commissioner's Office.
NJAL uses customers’ information only for the following purposes:
- Maintaining the customer’s registration,
- Processing the customer’s order and sharing necessary information with the respective designer or courier company,
- For statistical purposes to improve this Website and its services to the customer,
- To serve website content to the customer,
- To administer this Website,
- If the customer consents, to notify them of products or special offers that may be of interest to them,
- If the customer consent, to send them information by post or email.
NJAL will not release customers’ personal details, however customers should be aware that if NJAL are requested by the police or any other regulatory or government authority investigating suspected illegal activities to provide customers’ personal details and /or user information, NJAL is entitled do so.
