To grow, you have to embrace the discomfort. The transition will be uncomfortable and scary but that’s the beauty of it. The journey through the hard part leads to growth of an individual. You learn so much about yourself and what you are capable of when you get to the other side of it. Discomfort has made me learn a lot of lessons but the biggest one is that of having a better appreciation of life. Just as it is said- “The best success stories written, all started from a painful experience”. From this, I connect with the Spider Web. Just like the spider weaves a web, we as humans weave our lives by our own hands. Spider webs also give us an overview of how can we manipulate our thinking in order to construct the life we want to live symbolic to their webs. The Spider webs are built after a lot of hardships like destruction but continue to weave its life just as humans face a lot of discomfort through our journey of life but still keeps on weaving a life which we want to. Just like the spider web is chaotic yet organized, I am going to incorporate surfaces which are being inspired by the web and paneling in the garments as the web is also connected through the panels .This is an Autumn/Winter 18-19 collection for women’s wear. I am targeting a neutral color palette of Black and white with shades of Grey. The collection targets young urban professional women who are working in the industry. A person who is bold and adventurous in her style and who likes to be on trend. The fabric used for the collection is cotton Canvas as it helped it creating structures and shapes for the silhouettes.
