Norwegian designer Tarinii Martinsen established her namesake label, Tarinii, in 2015 shortly after graduating the Fashion Design BA at Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan. She has since focused on building a menswear label with a sustainable ethos which values craftsmanship and quality as well as creative expression.
She is intrigued by past and present cultures, subcultures and spiritualism, as well as questions around gender identity and expression. There is often a mixture of references tied together by an underlying concept or idea. Her approach carries with it great sensitivity and humility, and shows an ability to transform her research into work that is truly her own and never too literal.
Every piece is produced in her studio-factory in Oslo, unless hand knitted or crochet by her mother in the Norwegian country side. Everything is produced in limited quantities using certified organic textiles, dead stock or Japanese denim.
