Simone Schmidt Adrian is a danish womenswear graduate from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen (2017).
My fascination for clothing derives from a deep respect and love for craftsmanship. I am interested in creating a stronger link between consumer and garment for a more sustainable fashion future.
My main tool for working towards this goal is a celebration of craft. My use of small scale producers and traditional craftsmanship demonstrates a dedication to materiality, experiment, raw expression and irregularity for a hopefully longer product life.
Through clothing I strive to challenge stereotypical conceptions of the body: beauty ideals, femininity and masculinity and gender identities.
I design garments for consumers who are interested in diversity and who use fashion as a vehicle for communicating identity.
