Sarah’s work is centred around celebrating craft in an age of industrialization. The designs range from one-of-a-kind patchworks made with surplus military parachutes and found fabrics to hand dyed and quilted outerwear. The collection challenges both class and established ideas of femininity.
Sarah Kauffman graduated from Central Saint Martins’ Womenswear MA Fashion, after having studied womenswear in the United States and couture technique in Paris. While on the MA, Sarah contributed to group illustrations and live drawings used for Alexander McQueen’s 2020 Spring RTW collection. Long term internships with the design teams at Giles Deacon Couture and Oscar de la Renta also influenced her work.
