Rebecca Rimmer is an emerging womenswear fashion designer located in Britain whom graduated from The University of Central Lancashire with a BA Honors degree in fashion design during 2014. Her label is aimed to bring a sense of humour to the fashion industry, effortlessly combining colour and exaggerated silhouettes with digital prints based on hand painting. Bold, bright and beautiful designs captured the eyes of The Times Newspaper, The Telegraph Newspaper, Vogue online, Drapers Magazine and several independent fashion based magazines at London Graduate Fashion Week 2014.
End Of The Pier’ is a contemporary Spring / Summer 2015 womenswear capsule collection that explores the fun and freedom of the 1950’s; the war was over it was time to celebrate! Rock ‘n’ Roll dances, Hollywood dinners and the population flocking to the seaside to relax and push their faces through the ever-so popular, humorous, freshly painted peep-boards. Collages formulated from inspirational images allow digitally printed cottons to echo the idea of freely hand - painted designs, which are realised in simple oversized silhouettes. Elements of applique and a determined focus on hand - painted details pop brightly in colours good enough to eat; primary red, yellow and blue with a red orange and a classic green amongst a bright white and jet black that emphasise the classic details. Ultimately my collection explores the boundaries between art and clothing made for a fun-loving woman with an artistic soul. (Photography: Bartlomiej staszowski)
