Celebrating women with their simple beauty, the Spring/Summer 2017 collection by PLAKINGER is a story of Bohemian elegance translated into a contemporary and urban setting.
Brought to life in the PLAKINGER atelier, where each garment is handmade in a limited edition, the SS17 collection was designed with a romantic gypsy heroine in mind. A strong cosmopolitan woman, walking to the beat of her own drums, who isn’t afraid of collecting her memories and cherishing her wardrobe.
Modern simplicity reflecting true inner beauty, the color palette gives prominence to soft hues for a timeless attire.
The SS17 collection being as much about comfort as self-expression, less is more with white heavenly garments like the maxi cotton dress styled with a tassel belt or the statement fringed cape evoking the romance of a wanderer’s life. From girly and innocent to glamorous and sophisticated, the unique prints dictate the mood.
Hand-drawn opulent fantasy flowers, butterflies and birds inspired by the “Jack and the beanstalk” fairytale are complemented by a delightful all-over anemone print, gracefully paving the way for an unconventional spring.
Lush and romantic, the feminine dresses, blouses and skirts are embellished with ruffles, embroideries and handmade tassels and pleats.
The light-coloured knitwear ensemble bears clean lines in cozy fabrics for an effortless boho-chic silhouette.
Adding a bit of contrast, the minimal black cocktail pieces such as the tiered silk organza gown or the diaphanous lace dress settle nicely in, between power and femininity, bold gracefulness and incredible strength. There is a sense of freedom with the dramatic dresses breathing new life into evening wear tailoring.
PLAKINGER gave carte blanche to the French artists behind “L’Ateliers des Curiosités” who designed a capsule jewellery collection made entirely of Limoges porcelain. Handcrafted and highlighted with gold, the delicate floral and leaf-shaped accessories comprising ten fine jewellery pieces add a serious artistic touch to the womenswear collection, enhancing the silhouette and look of the SS17 creations.
