The design duo based out of India finds inspiration from the spiriual essence of indian culture fused with art styles that have shaped the history of both the eastern and western worlds. The first collection, focuses on art nouveau and art deco, although the content is drawn from iconic Indian and world symbols.
Showing equal interest in both art and fashion, the designers have great achievements in both the fashion and art world. For Lakme fashion week Summer/Spring 2014 Pika created a line of egyptian inspired garments to accompany jewelry collection Pretty Stoned. Whilst Sarah, working previously within the fineart world, exhibited fine art and illustrations in Washington D.C., Denver and El Minia, Egypt.
The two combined worlds, with digital printing allowing for the finest of detail to appear in the prints.
"We should acknowledge that beauty touches us, it wounds us, it opens our eyes. True beauty is not something that we can see, but something that is felt. It is intrinsic."
The designers feel that a design line, created on 100% silk and displaying fine craftsmenship along the hand-rolled edges, will open your eyes to a new breed of beauty.
