Pangea Kali Virga is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, where she focused on producing technically complex haute couture garments. Pangea spends her time making things, mainly utilizing the medium of fabric. She has always been drawn to time consuming hand work, layers upon layers of subtle details, in conjunction with fine fabrics, resulting
in unique couture garments.
Pangea is a nomadic designer and brand and has been located in Kansas City, New York City, and Vietnam.
After moving to Kansas City from New York City in mid 2013 Pangea renewed her fashion work by creating her brand Pangea Kali Virga with collections for both the West 18th Street Fashion Show and Kansas City Fashion Week. Her two winning scarf textile designs scarves for Front Row Society were sold internationally in the winter of 2015.
Pangea, also a talented stylist, has produced dozens of editorial photo shoots that have been featured in leading fashion journals such as Factice, Atlas, Huf Magazine, and Lucy's. She also served as Designer Curator for the 16th annual West 18th St. Fashion Show where she steered and advised the many collections, as well as styled the runway.
Pangea continues to push her work, collaborating in multiple mediums with artists and musicians alike.
Ms.Virga is currently living in Hoi An, Vietnam and can be hired for custom orders, freelance design work, and styling services. Her runway samples are available for purchase upon request.
